The module works based on native Magento cart rules. In practice, this means the platform's existing mechanisms are still responsible for promotion qualification: rule activity, validity dates, customer groups, coupons, product conditions, cart conditions, and calculation order. Quantity Boost only ignores the standard discount value set in selected rules and replaces it with its own threshold-based algorithm.

The administrator can define thresholds in a dynamic table, for example: the first item without a discount, the second item with a 20% discount, and the third and each subsequent item with a 30% discount. The discount is calculated based on qualifying product items, sorted by price, so the most expensive product can remain without a discount, while the discount is applied to subsequent items according to the promotion rules.

Quantity Boost also supports control over how it works with other promotions. The module respects Magento's native rule priority and the Discard subsequent rules setting, while the additional Exclude Cart Price Rules configuration lets you indicate rules that should block the quantity discount from being applied.

Built-in frontend messages help clearly present the promotion rules to the customer in the top bar, on the product page, category listing, and in the cart. The module can also communicate the free shipping threshold by retrieving it from the native Free Shipping method. The appearance of messages can be configured separately for each display location, without code changes.

For sales and marketing teams, an important element is the report. Quantity Boost saves its own audit fields and provides a grid in the Magento admin panel that allows analysis of orders with the applied discount, promotion amounts, used rules, coupons, and the number of qualifying items.

Module Features

Promotion Control Through Cart Price Rules

The module allows you to select one or several native Magento cart price rules. These rules define when the promotion is active and which products qualify for the discount.

Dynamic Discount Thresholds

The administrator manages thresholds in a configuration table. Each threshold contains the item number, discount type, discount value, and an optional label.

Example:

Percentage or Fixed Discount

Each threshold can apply either a percentage discount or a fixed discount amount. Fixed discounts are configured per store view and are also saved in the base currency.

Protection Against Double Discounting

The discount value from the native controlling rule is ignored. The module uses the rule for promotion qualification, but calculates the discount amount independently.

Cooperation With Other Rules

Quantity Boost respects Magento rule priorities and the setting for blocking subsequent rules. Additionally, the administrator can select rules whose application disables the Quantity Boost discount.

Frontend Messages

The module displays promotional messages:

in the top bar,
on the product page,
on the listing and category page,
in the cart.

The messages support dynamic data such as the number of qualifying items, the next discount, and the free shipping threshold.

Appearance Configuration

For each display location, you can separately set the text color, background, font, padding, margin, border, and custom CSS class.

Report in the Magento Admin Panel

The Reports > Promotions > Quantity Boost report shows orders where the Quantity Boost discount was applied. This makes it easier to analyze campaign performance and control interaction with other promotions.

Example Scenario

The store launches the Multi-Discounts 2026 campaign:

the first qualifying product without a discount,
the second product with a 20% discount,
the third and each subsequent one with a 30% discount,
the promotion works only for selected categories,
the promotion can work together with a 100 PLN voucher if the Magento rule configuration allows it,
